FAQs and Fees
Do you accept insurance?
Yes! I'm an in-network provider for Aetna insurance. If you have a different insurance plan, I'm happy to provide you with a “superbill”, an itemized receipt, that you can submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. Keep in mind that out-of-network benefits vary by plan, so I'd recommend checking with your insurance provider about your specific coverage and reimbursement rates. I'm always happy to answer questions about fees and payment during our free consultation call.
How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?
We'll start getting to know one another during our initial consultation call and continue building that relationship session by session if we decide to move forward together. It's important to me to be transparent and communicative with clients, so please never hesitate to ask a question or share a concern—even if it's about our work together! The quality of your relationship with your therapist is one of the most important factors in therapeutic success. If at any point you feel I'm not the right fit for you, that's completely okay. I'll do everything in my power to help you find a therapist who is the perfect match.
What issues/concerns do you specialize in?
I enjoy working with clients facing a wide variety of challenges and am equipped to support you wherever you are in your journey. I also have advanced training in several specialized areas:
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and Anxiety
ERP is the "gold standard" treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders. It's highly effective and evidence-based, but it can also be emotionally demanding work. Because of this, I combine ERP with values-based approaches so that while you're doing the hard work of facing your fears, you're also connecting it to what truly matters to you and the life you want to be living—rather than one controlled by feared situations and intrusive thoughts.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy
EMDR is a type of therapy that helps people heal from distressing experiences and trauma. It uses bilateral stimulation—like eye movements, tapping, or auditory cues—to help your brain process upsetting thoughts and memories in a healthier way. EMDR is different from traditional talk therapy in that it doesn't require you to talk in detail about what happened. Instead, it focuses on changing the emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that result from distressing experiences, allowing your brain to resume its natural healing process.
Gender-Affirming Care
I've completed advanced mental health training through the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) to provide the highest standard of care for transgender and gender diverse clients. As a gender specialist, I'm committed to providing affirming, supportive care and eliminating gatekeeping practices. In addition to ongoing therapy, I also offer surgical support letters, which can typically be completed in a single session unless there are complex mental health concerns that need to be addressed first.
Do you prescribe medication?
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I'm not licensed to prescribe medication. However, I work closely with psychiatrists (MDs) and psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) who specialize in medication management. If medication might be helpful as part of your treatment, I'm happy to provide referrals to trusted providers I've consulted with over the years. I've had the opportunity to see firsthand how they work with clients, and I'm always available to collaborate with your prescriber to ensure you're getting comprehensive, coordinated care.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
I completely understand that life happens and scheduling conflicts come up. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give me at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full session fee, as that time has been reserved exclusively for you. I know this can feel strict, but it helps me maintain availability for all my clients and honor the commitment we've made to your therapy time. If you're running late to a session, we'll work with whatever time we have left, though we may not be able to extend beyond your scheduled end time.
Individual Therapy Rate:
45 Minute Session $150
Couples/Relationship Therapy Rate:

Please don't let cost be a barrier to seeking the support you deserve. I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots for those experiencing financial hardship. If cost is a concern, please reach out—we can talk about what might work for your situation.
